Decent families: adopt mainstream values (good education and legitimate job) From the working poor, and see the value of an education. Have to adapt to neighbourhood culture in order to survive. Must follow code of the streets, do not let your guard down, watch your back to avoid disrespecting someone. Issue in one part and impact another part of the body. Increases in crime rate, impacts society: area of the body, deviance: universal and normal, it is functional and has a purpose. In a society of stains, where no-one is doing anything that is wrong, even actions that seemed normal would be seen as deviant, anything that deviants from the normal. Egoistic: too little: don"t have support, feel alone.
