In 2010, there is an increase in all types of violence: non-state violence increases the most dramatically from 2010-2014, followed by state- based, and then one-sided violence. Slide 57: climate change exacerbates food insecurity directly and also increases risk of conflict. Climate-related events, especially droughts, can limit the availability of and access to food sources, increasing the risk of conflict. Slide 58: conflict can lead to concentration of agriculture, exacerbating effects of climate change.
