This could lead to harm/loss, threat and challenge. Emotion often influences significance of experience and response. Core emotions related to sport and exercise: anger, anxiety, fright, guilt, shame, sadness, envy, jealousy, happiness, pride, relief, hope, love, gratitude, compassion. Acute stressor occurs over short time periods. Chronic stressor occurs over long time periods. Expected stressor can plan or prepare for it. Competitive stressor experiences prior to, during, or after competition. Non-competitive stressor sport-related but not directly part of competition.
