What previous work did not investigate well. Talks about what the hole is that this research is trying to fill. You should know what each experiment found and why it was conducted. Why it was conducted will either be: Intertwined in the methods (cid:862)this was do(cid:374)e to rule out(cid:863) or (cid:862)this was do(cid:374)e to e(cid:374)sure(cid:863) You can usually get his information from the discussions of results. Sometimes there will be a separate discussion section for each experiment. Other ties it will be included in the results look at the last few paragraphs of results for a summary.
