Race does not exist as a clear biological entity between humans. Often, there are more within-group differences than between-group differences. Family guy example at the toll both lighter skin is okay, darker skin is not. Racialization - social process in which human groups are viewed and judged as different because of perceived differences in physical appearance (look different, treated different) Indigenous people have been analyzed as social problems in media & academic research. Their voices have been rendered silent in academia. Fact: vast majority of research is done by non-indigenous people (which is sad, indigenous people needs to be represented in canada more) I. e. rate of incarceration 3x representation in society. Often ghettoized in poor communities featuring rampant poverty, lack of employment, gangs, drugs, etc. Little is done to alleviate related social problems. Racism is the product of 4 elements. Prejudice (based on assumptions of worth from rationalization)
