Document Summary
Prior to tutorial #1, take this self-test, which is similar in content to exercises which will be done in the class, in order to see if you are understanding the concepts discussed in the lectures. The ta will be going over some of the concepts once more at the beginning of the tutorial, so you can ask questions at that time. Note that the use of articles at the beginning of a definition is generally optional. For example, for the term laparoscopy, the following are all acceptable definitions: visual examination of the abdomen, the visual examination of the abdomen, a visual examination of the abdomen. Two notes of importance: an article may be required when using a definition within a sentence (which you will do later in the course). If english is not your first language and you have difficulties with articles, contact me for further assistance.
