Document Summary

Making sure that your story is following a certain order and there are no abrupt disruptions. It isn"t a one size fits all formula (so not all stories work with the narrative arc) Basics of narrative arc: every story must have a (everything else is negotiable) o. This is where you introduce the main character, the main conflict/goal/struggle the character is up against (obstacle). Then something happens, which is called the catalyst/kicker (this kicks the main character into action) Katniss everdeen takes her sister"s spot in the hunger games"/red. Riding hood takes food to her grandmother"s house, strays from path and is stalked by a wolf o. Main character continues to pursue a goal, obstacles occur along the way (which the character needs to overcome), a reversal or twist often lands the main character in more trouble. Typically, it is the longest section of your story (as your character should be encountering a lot of obstacles)
