Document Summary

Someone with a deficit in the rods in eyes would have difficulty with: Rods sensitive to low light- grey scale. More in the center of vision that in the periphery. Better to look at corner of eye- when dim. Visible light spectrum: height= brightness of graph, purity= how much other light is in there. Mix things of different colours- therefore if add all colours together will get bad colour. Overlay light together- will be a mix. Trichromatic theory: 3 types of receptors red, green, blue. Each cone responds to particular wavelengths of colour therefore, when you perceive colours- you observe a mix a combination of colours (adding) Most evidence about colour blindness fits well. Usually not see full range- difficult to see some colours: problems with trichromatic theory: two problems. Have after image- complementary colour shows up- on opposite of colour wheel. 2) we need more than 3 colours to describe the world.
