Awareness of internal and external stimuli: awareness of what going around you- any you physical state. Stream of consciousness- i need to go get bread things that you experience that. Selective attention constantly evolving and changing: directing attention to a particular stimulus or set of stimuli, selective attention- attend to particular stimulus- ignore other ones. To be conscious- not have to pay attention to everything. Talking on phone- not focus on driving- since distracted by phone. Something your supposed to be paying attention to- mind drift of to something random.
