Human cultural learning accumulates across generations through overimitation and high- fidelity learning of even non-obvious causal steps. Some cultural variants are more readily learned than others. Context-based learning biases: cues in the social environment that social learners use to determine what to attend to and learn. Frequency-dependent biases how frequent the behavior occurs in your environment. Thing being copied may be unrelated to model"s success. Unclear what caused the prestige, learners just want to copy anything they can to try to get some of the model"s prestige. Note: some can have prestige without being successful (born at the right place at the same time) Find the most skilled/highest expertise individual and do what they do. Finding people to copy based on their skill in that activity. Copy others whom you see as similar to yourself. Those who are similar to you may have knowledge of things you need to do to learn from them.
