Tendency to view other places as having culture and to take our own culture for granted. Includes beliefs, practices, objects that are part of the collective lies of a group or society. (and we learn as part of these groups) Shape the way we see the world. Ways to talk about aspects of culture: Values, symbols, language, representations, schemas, norms, rituals, habits, collective, histories/narratives, material culture (media, art, tech) Shapes the way we think and act. Different aspects of society: why some countries/groups of people act the way they do. Group cultures and the outcomes they produce: Subjective (thinking and interpreting) / objective (sensing, seeing, heading and acting) Instead of individual versus experienced culture -> types of larger culture. Material products of culture (i. e things or artifacts) Some cultural aspects are more shared than others. Some cultures have more diversity that others. There are different levels of culture (individuals, groups, regions, nations. )
