Intro to linguistic and sociocultural anthropology (sociocultural anthropology) What people think and do (culture = think, society=do) Many definitions, but have common traits: coherent, systematic whole. An idea, a way to understand and structure the world. We do not observe a culture", since that word denotes, not any concrete reality, but an abstraction. But direct observation does reveal to us that human beings are connected by a complex network of social relations.
