They made a very deliberate political choice to bring the king back and since have been governed by a monarch but it is bound by democratic rule. Their constitutional history can go back to the existence of the magnacarta. Britain has been known as a unitary, single unified state except when tony blair was pm he actually introduced legislatures in scotland and wales. It is a bicameral legislature which means that it composes of two houses; the upper house used to be hereditary. Its a system dominated by two major parties: in the past it was liberals and conservatives, and labour and conservatives have been dominant ever since.
