Around 600 bce, there was the emergence of a religion that dominated the persian empire (zoroastrianism religion). Persian in uence was so widespread and continues to be today. Zoroastrianism was focused on gods and goddesses with a lot of overlap in responsibility. Cyrus the great then founded achaemenid persian empire. He allowed his subjects to worship their own gods. It wasn"t uncommon for this to usually be prohibited. Alexander the great was the person who ended the persian empire at this time. Then there was a period of chaos because there was not much of a central rule. Ardashir founded a new sassanid persian empire/dynasty. This era of persians which are the contemporaries of the greek romans and would later be the emperors of the byzantine empires. The persian empire was the contemporary of all of the risen and fallen empires throughout time. There were wars that kept occurring which weakened the byzantine empire.
