He lost twice and blamed it on electoral fraud. In 2014, he founded morena which was the movement for national reformation. He won the election by a landslide and won both houses of congress. He reformed pemex and gas prices went up. He promised serious reforms and bringing about radical revolution. He promised to tackle debts, and opponents feared he was a left-wing reformist. But he had very mixed messages about the economy and he promised no nationalization, no new taxes, and promised to get the military out of the drug war, and wanted to bring an amnesty for cartel members. However, he doubled down on using military on the drug war.
