Wilhelm wundt (1870s) combines the disciplines of philosophy and physiology. Biological: many overlaps especially in genetics, pharmacology. Psychoanalytic: freud"s theories weren"t largely scientifically tested. Told us we are driven by the unconscious. First 5 years impact on who we are. Behavioral: we can only measure by observable behaviours. Humanistic: recognizes humans are special, meaning of life. Everytime we remember something we make some of it up. Evolutionary: any behavior must have evolutionary explanation. Dreams across all species because it allows us to survive and pass genes.
