PSY397H5 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Fear Conditioning, Habituation, Gyrus
Document Summary
The tone + shock is repeated 3 times: context test- seeing what they remember, cue test chamber does not provide good continuity and contingency with the shock, without the shock. Variations of fear conditioning: cue plus context fear conditioning- cue test training and contextual training, context alone- training and context test, context discrimination- training in context 1 and test in context 1 and 2. Cue and no cue don"t differ much. Both showing freezing so they remember the pain. Responding to chamber as if there was a shock. No cue during training did not respond. The only diff b/w the two groups of rats is genetical differences; problems in the hippocampus. They should be motivated to act the same way. Cue in context- they are not showing much levels of freezing compared to the black 6; they are barely freezing. Black recognize that the tone is dangerous.
