Lecture #1: intro to sociology & sociological imagination. Sociology systematic study of human behavior in a social context. Informs us about social structures, behavior, and culture. Gets rid of myths through research and statistics (i. e. black people commit more crimes) Seeing the general in the strange in the familiar.
