Aren"t necessarily a representation of the population: quota sampling method. Go to square one, and tell your assistants to go up to 51 women and 49 men. Purposive (which is also non-probability; i"ll discuss a few more kinds) Goal: not just to randomly select people, it is guided by a research question that affects a specific group of people. Depends on your research question: maximum variation. Purposely selecting people to have a wide range, relating to what you"re studying.
