Managers" concerns: productivity efficiency: high productivity with low cost, employee motivation how to get employees to maximize their performance external: rewards/punishments internal: getting people to commit to their jobs which is also called, organizational commitment, employee engagement. Social culture: beliefs what you believe about employees, values what you think is important; hard work, if a manager values that they"ll reward this. 2: norms what we see as appropriate behavior, symbols objects or practices/behaviours that reflects the beliefs and the values (wearing a jacket with the company logo, eating lunch with employees) As you look for better productivity we try different approaches: all of these exist today. Employees are effected by what they see in the organization culture. So the managers must focus on the organization culture to get employees committed.
