Socrates goes down to the piraeus possibly alluding to the allegory of the cave and entering the city/cave of ignorance. The festival is for the introduction of a new goddess of the city. Ironic because socrates was charged with disrespecting old gods/worshipping other gods. Connects to thrasymachus" claim that justice is what those in power say it is. Socrates is walking home from the festival with glaucon and are stopped by a servant of. Glaucon decides that they will both wait, socrates has passive role so far. Polemarchus and co. refuse to be persuaded into letting socrates go and make him go to.
