Transition from living in caves to agrarian society. Settled life in semi-permanent villager of about 60 people. Last ice age (10,900-9,600 bce) ended the society slowly. Cold dry climate killed off plants that they lived on. Also chased the game away the science of breeding and caring for farm animals. Lentils, chickpeas, barley, and wheat were among first crops. Dogs, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens were among the first domesticated animals. Easier for people to raise chickens than to hunt for them. Predictable sources of food gave rise to more people. There were other people in the area that wanted to get into the city and get the stuff that was there. Represent high status of women in stone age society. A well nourished female is more likely to carry children. Figurines like this were found all around the world. Stressed hetero men are drawn to heavy women. Stone age people were under a lot of stress.
