• WW2: setback for Japanese; limited opportunities for others.
3. 1965-Present: Post Exclusion
• More numbers and diversity
• 1965 Immigration Act
• Family reunification: male bachelors could be reunited with their families.
• Professional migration: social-economic makeup changes to educated, skilled
workers (doctors, engineers) compared to the laborers pre-1965.
