When the situation is vice-versa (people coming north from mexico) the reaction is vastly different; we must build the wall . A constructed myth about indigenous people who lived on the land gave colonists the right to take the land for their own. Native people didn"t use their land or live the same way as colonists, so the colonists said they weren"t using the land correctly or living right in general. Colonization and racialization of the native americans came about as the colonists" excuse to treat them like shit.
