Ethical obligations: carefully & deliberately weigh consequences & ethical dimensions of choices they make. Natives were tired of being researched/dug up. Couldn"t keep a native buried for 400 years. Anthropologists said we"ve got to clean up. Anthropologists took the lead b/c no one else would. In the past, if you found it, it was yours. This isn"t true according to some natives. If people live in a small community, learned there were some domestic violence problems. Harm can come in so many ways & forms. Locations have to be kept quiet & have to learn how to layout your projects & can"t expect that everything is going to go fine. Rape & incest is almost unheard of in nez perce societies. Can link research to promotion of well-being, social critique or advocacy.
