Sexual thought are a big part of our lives. Urban legend: men think about sex every 7 seconds: based on weak retrospective methodology. Better approach: used clickers with 163 female and 120 male college students, counted thoughts about needing food, sleep, or sex. With psychopathology, how do we separate out: cultural, societal, and religious norms, individual preferences, (cid:498)addictions(cid:499, what"s left, criminality. Should we limit ourselves to a very narrow scope? i. e. sexual activities that cause unwanted harm to self and others. Sexual dysfunctions: sexual interest, desire, and arousal disorders female interest/arousal disorder. Erectile disorder: orgasmic disorders female orgasmic disorder. One exception: women have shorter refractory period (during which they are not capable of re-arousing). 10,000 observed cycles in 382 women and 312 men. Sexual interest/arousal disorder in women: persistent deficits in sexual interest (fantasies or urges), biological arousal, or subjective arousal.
