Middle childhood becomes reflective, planful, patterns of thinking. Believes there is a goal (what is the goal?) He believes: development is active, qualitative change, development is predictable. Cognitive development: sensorimotor (birth-2, preoperational (2-7, concrete operational (7-11, formal operational (11-on) Ppl who have learning theory approach that see little changes that masquerade as big steps.
