Document Summary

Question how the whole universe came to exist. Richard taylor: an american philosopher who lived from 1919-2003 who wrote the. Cosmological argument which used to establish the existence of god. There is some explanation for the existence of anything whatever, some reason why it should exist rather than not. Cosmological argument: derived from the word cosmos which means the universe, this is an argument that relies how the universe came to exist. Thought experiments: people rely on hypothetical scenarios to further and identify key concepts of an argument. A normal reaction would be to figure out how it got there and the explanation/cause how it be placed. The sheer nonexistence of anything, which is not to be confused with the passing out of existence of something, never requires a reason; but existence does. Every event ( movement" actuality") must have a cause. This chain of causation events caused by other events can"t extend backwards in time indefinitely or forever.
