In the last map (c) the economic variable has been adjusted to the earning capacity of the countries. Less developed countries are the hardest hit. Which region of the world experiences the greatest relative economic impact. Finally, examine the maps and look for locations with the greatest aggregate of hazards. Assuming that the more types of hazards an area experiences will reduce the capacity of that area to recover from disasters, which area of the world experiences the greatest impact from hazards: middle east/africa. Main impacts will be loss of lime and damage to the infrastructure of a community: transportation, health services, residences etc: sometimes linked, but more often there is a reverse relationship. Which region usually experiences large loss of life during disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes: asia. Which region experiences greater economic loss during similar disasters: asia. An understanding of the processes and their impacts. Many hazards have related scales that indicate the extent of the hazard.
