But the legacy and the myth remain (universal theme: changing times uproot traditional ways of life) But clickbait heads on journalistic stories are out of fashion. Ex: you won"t believe what this new texas a&m shirt says about alabama. Online headlines need to help search engines find the story (search engine optimization or seo ) 55 characters or fewer (that"s limit on google search headlines) Include keywords that online reader would type in search window. Liberally link to other online stories and sources. Related stories that are part of coverage package. Supplemental information (e. g. interview transcript, detailed stats) External sources for more information (e. g. agency website) Even to relevant stories by competing media (if you"re aggregating, its ethically mandatory!) Embed links within story text or put them at end of story as a group.
