His research was inspired by the destructive obedience demonstrated by nazi officers and ordinary citizens in wwii and looked ahead to the civil disobedience. His studies showed individual vulnerability to destructive commands from authority. 1970s the canadian government expanded its funding programs, attracting many social psychologists to the usa. This lead to more studies and research about interactions in groups and social problems and examined aggression, physical attractiveness, and stress. 1970s was also a time of crisis and heated debate: They also said that feminist research was left out of discussion. Those who favored the laboratory experiment said it was ethical, it gave valid results, and the principles are widely applicable. Laboratory experiments continued because both sides of the argument won (whether it was ethical or not). Recognizes that because no one research method is perfect and because topics require different kinds of investigations, a range of research techniques are needed.
