An benzodiazepine inverse agonist was administered known to have the opposite effect of gaba it produces an extreme burst of anxiety. The group of monkeys raised without control went into the corner of the cage in anxiety and panic, and the group with control started to act angry and aggressive to one another. Shows how a neurochemical (acting as a neurotransmitter) can produce very different effects based on psychological and environmental history.
