Who is working on political matters (how resource is distributed) who is involved in child care. Stratification means that 1 group in a society is at a higher level than other groups. Both are crucial in the survival of the household. When there"s matrilineal or bilateral descent - it tends to grant women more freedom. In nomadic/hunter-gatherer groups - tend to have equality. These small societies tend to be bilateral descent. A system of ranking by which people within a social group occupy different positions, more of less power and status relative to each other. Power - ability to exert influence or control over things. Authority - the socially accepted/licensed position that gives you a legitimate usage of power. Generosity, hospitality, honesty, bravery, not being weak, independence, loyalty, self- control, social sense, fearlessness, assertiveness and religious piety. Your status is derived from how well you follow the code of honor.
