Cells are there basically to be worn away and replaced by new. Cells for both keratinized & nonkeratinized tissue** Skin cells are worn off when you take clothes off, put them on, shower, etc. Every time air goes in and out of nostrils, wearing some cells away. Found lining large ducts of most exocrine glands (gland where products of gland leave by way of duct) & some parts of the male urethra (wall of duct is lined with it) Ex: simple cuboidal makes sweat (its made in such large volume) that duct cell cant withstand pressure so adds 1-2 layers of cells to reinforce wall to stand pressure of fluid as rising to surface. Stratification reinforces the duct that carries it to the surface. Some parts of urethra b/c not sure which tissue actually lines the urethra. Urethra carries urine from bladder out of body.
