Geography is a word from a greek origin. It can be broken down into geo and graphein, meaning "earth" and "to write. " Basically the main idea of human geography is to analyze connections between places and how places a affects place b. It can be described as the "science of spatial relationships". There is an important historical linkage between physical and social sciences, focusing on the relationship between humans and nature. What humans do affects nature, and vice versa. Well mainly because of the three big rivers running through it. These rivers provide necessary transportation for materials used in the production of steel. They imported resources and exported the steel after it was made. This location is significant because it connects the world through steel production and through immigration. Just because places are close in distance does not mean they are connected. Example of this would be usa and cuba.
