Worst type, bad, increase total cholesterol and ldl, decrease hdl. Chronic/long term inflammation that results in scars on artery walls. Gum disease: if gums bleed when brush your teeth. Relationship to heart disease, damage to artery walls. Extreme form loss flexibility in arteries, leading to leaking/breaks. Rupture in arteries: leak: not enough blood returned to heart causing a heart attack. Not enough blood/oxygen causing death of cells.
