Avoidant- responsive care giver who is cold and distant. Anxious-ambivalent- inconsistent care who is sometimes smothering and sometimes distant and non responsive. Infant develops a view of the world based upon their early childhood experience. Under stress your attachment style will display itself. Mary aimsworth went into the homes of baltimore newborns through the first two years of life and observed the relationship between the kids and the moms.
