Romantic love: universal romance= some claim that romantic love is a western concept (beginning with medieval courting, love (or something similar) is found in most cultures, 7 elements are considered key (according the mangaia of polynesia) Intrusive thinking: can often create or destroy relationships and marriages, neuroanatomy. Romantic love showed different activation in the brain than love with friends/ family. Causes activation in the medial insula, anterior cingulate cortex, caudate nucleus and putamen. Also caused deactivation in the posterior cingulate cortex and amygdala. Right sided activation of ________________-- also occurred: neuropharmacology.
