Instinctive/impulsive in natural vs cerebral cortex (higher, advanced behavior) Main structures of limbic just know they"re located centrally in middle of their brain things that they do. Just know they are all found in core part of brain: thalamus central in terms of the taking in of sensory information and routing it to higher levels of the brain for processing. Most all sensory information (vision, sight, touch, hearing, smell) tends to be routed through the thalamus. Only one that has direct line higher level of processing smell.
