Article: types of information we can use for clothing history. Art: statuary, paintings, etc, need to put all these things together to piece the picture together and thats how clothing historians work. Finding sources: need to check credentials of the author. James haver: a wall known costume historian, a good scholar. Project: can focus on lms, can focus on time periods outside of what we learn in class, may look into topics that relate to what we covered in class but did not mentioned. If you want to do this, talk to professor to see if its ok and doable. And also if its different enough to not be repetitive with class: we don"t talk about assyrians, egyptians, middle eastern areas, india, china, native americans, south americans, myans, africans, etc. These are all available as options: makeup, hair, jewelry, etc. can also be covered as topics.
