Document Summary

The 6 steps of the scientific method. Looking for scholarly articles and books to allow us to learn more about the topic. A research questions tells you about the variables of interest and asks if there is an interest between them. Variable: any factor that can have changing values. Ex: whether boys are aggressive in class. It is not a variable because you can"t change your age so the boys are a constant. Constant: any factor that can"t change values. Literature review allows us to come up with questions. Hypothesis: a testable prediction of a cause and effect relationship between 2 of more variables. In order for one to have a valid hypothesis. You must have a minimum of 2 variables - one independent variable (the cause) and one dependent variable (the effect) The relationship between the 2 variables have to be verifiable and falsifiable. Verifiable: you have to have the means to verify this.
