Cohesiveness is a cause not a symptom. Does not predict very well (particularly the cohesiveness part) Rules and resources people use in interaction are considered structures . Resources: money, time, materials, space, knowledge, skills, etc. Emphasis is on examining social practices, not individual attitudes. Groups produce and reproduce structures thru agency (behaviors/activities) and thru reflexivity (ability to monitor behavior/action) Rules and resources are the process and the outcome ( duality of structure ) Groups can follow variety of paths to get to agreement.
