Jacksonian america is a generation that lasts for years, even after jackson is no longer. Changing world: population growth president, 1800: us has 16 states and 5 million people, 1820: 23 states 9 million people, in 10 years, 1 m people moved west of the og 13 colonies. /ton: panic of 1819: lots of land foreclosures in the west. Iron plow 1797: made it easier to break soil, so farmers could work a lot more acres. Increase in production: interchangeable parts: easier to replace a single part than replacing a whole item, cotton gin: produce 50 times more cotton than possible before. Cotton is a staple crop: much of the economy revolves around it. Leads to the rebirth of slavery: factory system, war of 1812: no imported cloth available from britain. New england has everything needed to start textile factories. Perfect water power, and lots of people ready to be laborers. Land is worn out from people settling there.
