The nature of development: development: the pattern of change that begins at conception and continues through the whole life span. Most devo involves growth, although it includes decay (death and dying: developmental processes- there are three domains, biological, puberty, cognitive, thought process changes, ability to think abstractly, socioemotional, changes related to social and emotional development. Interest in dating/romantic relationships: desire to spend more time with friends than family. Increases in abstract, idealistic, and logical thinking: socioemotional changes, quest for independence, conflicts with parents and elders.
