Law - a set of rules to govern the conduct of people in a civilized society. Laws might change because of social, political economic and technical factors. Common law- the judges refer to the previous similar cases. 1. hierarchy of courts the higher up the court, the higher is the authority for the decision. Civil law- in order to make the decision the judges refer to civil code. Judicial interpretation of legislation: where interpretation means how the judges will interpret the rules for each of the cases. European union law -- law resulting from membership of european union. Parliament laws made by, or under authority of parliament. *direct acts created by a specific parliamentary procedure. *indirect legislation created by bodies outside parliament through exercise of power delegated by act of parliament.
