Document Summary

Socrates: ionian philosophers of nature (natural philosophers), sophists. Philosophy is the mother of all sciences, included humanities. Philosophical thinking: rational thinking, especially devoted to fundamental questions logically precedes our everyday questions. You go in depth, as far as you can go, trying to approach a fundamental question and to think about it. Ex 1: politicians: that"s fair and just so vote for me. Lots of discussion can come up from those questions. It"s philosophical to take a meta position = you do a step back in order to understand what it is, what happens (prendre du recul) Truth =/ relevance: philosophy tries not only to find the truth, but to make sense. Truth is very important, the most important is to be relevant. And when you disagree with someone, you should know where you disagree. Aristotle way of thinking (socrates disagree with it): a=b and b=c so a=c.
