Document Summary

Lecture: relating theory and methodology in qualitative research. Analysing data and how they fit together. We are approaching patterns in research to make connection. What is qualitative research (thick description of a phenomena and what they mean) If you want to know why they behave in a certain way. When to use it depends on what you want to know. We don"t know enough about the phenomena. But in qualitative research we look at. Investigate all aspects of the thick description of the phenomena. People cannot be reduced to isolated variables = naturalist. Exploring and preparation for a more complex statistical data research. The assumption is that the connection will always be there. Social interaction may also have indication for the connection of consumption. Anthropology: ethnography invented the notion of thick description. Its all about bodily experience that differentiates us from animals. Basic qualitative research mixes all of the above and is mostly used in public health research.
