Document Summary

Kof globalisation index: globalisation down worldwide in 2015. The level of globalization felt slightly in 2015. Sweden were the most highly globalized countries worldwide. Index reflects economic, social and political globalization up to and including 2015. The level globalization worldwide increased rapidly between 1990 and 2007. It has only slightly risen since the great recession. In 2015, globalization decreased for the first time since 1975. This was due to the decline in economic globalization, with social globalization stagnation and political globalization increasing slightly. The basis for calculating the kof globalization index has been revised. A distinction is drawn between de facto and de jure globalization. From the perspective of de jure globalization the conditions for globalization improved compared to the previous year. A decline in de facto globalization is responsible for the fall in the overall index. In 2015, the netherlands was the most strongly globalized country in the world, followed by switzerland and sweden.
