Observer effect: tendency of ppl or animals to behave differently from normal when they know they are bein observed. Observer bias: tendency of observers to see what they expect to see. Blind observers: ppl who do not know what research question is. Allows use of specialized equipment each setting is unique. Artificial situation that may result in artificial behavior. Can b difficult to generalize findings to real world situation. Findings may not generalize to others generation surveys can affect outcomes. If variables r casually related a correlation wont tell u which variable is the independent variable: the variable in an experiment that is manipulated by the experimenter.
