British settlers considered better than british: no aristocracy. How infrastructure was built in the colonies. Shovels: each one attached to a person (hand labor), anyone can succeed if they work hard. Rise of a new race (interracial marriages) Diversity which was not found in europe. Still leaving out people: females, black slaves, indigenous groups. Irish, german, scotch: hierarchy based on stereotypes of the time. America is good for everyone, regardless of race. Planting: nurturing america provides for people, opportunities for people. East coast: dynamic cosmopolitan person, trading area, ports and cities, diversity (worldwide) is dynamic. Middle land: most civilized people, farmers, honorable, important profession at this time, looked up to as people who are working for themselves, est. himself as a farmer.
